Use Shape Poster Throughout Your Classroom

One of my favorite parts of Back to School is getting cute classroom decor. it sets the mood for a great school year! I try to use different decor packs every school year. My first year of having a classroom I went went the farmhouse style. These days boho style with it’s calmer colors are more my style. Who knows what I’ll use net year.

You can grab these posters here. These are great for incorporating bilingual skills in the classroom for young children.

Circle Hopscotch

Here’s another outdoor activity to try out. Use some sidewalk chalk and draw circles. Have your little one’s jump from circle to circle. For your younger toddlers have them color in the circles. You can have older preschoolers draw the circles themselves.

Is it raining outside? No problem! Print of some circles and tape them to the floor. If you want to save some ink and paper use can also use some painters tape to make out some circles.

Paper plates go well with early education classroom like peanut butter goes with jelly. We use these kind of plates in so many crafts throughout the year! You can buy them at the dollar store or you save yourself sometime in the future by buying them in bulk from amazon.

This month I let the younger toddlers use dot markers to decorate their circle plates. For the older preschoolers we let them cut out their own circles and let them glue them on the plate.

Toilet Paper Roll Circle Painting

This activity is great because it requires no prep. Simply save some toilet paper rolls or paper towel rolls and let your tiny tot go wild! If you’re out of rolls simply use cups or marshmallows.

Go on a Circle Scavenger Hunt

Next, get your tiny tots moving and practicing some gross motors skills. You can hide different circles in your classroom or throughout your home. Take pictures of real life object that are circles and show them to your children. Then let them go searching for them.

Use Tracing Coloring Pages

Tracing for young preschoolers opens the door to early writing skills. We love to use these printable tracing flash cards in our writing center. Save some time by laminating these cards and reuse them from year. This week we used the coloring and tracing pages.
